Geetha Narayanan Gopal (born 1989) is an Indian chess grandmaster from Aluva, Kerala. He took up the game at age 10, was coached by TM Sankaran Namboothiripad, later coached by IM Varghese Koshy. Subsequently he was coached in group camps by Ruslan Scherbakov and Evgeny Vladimirov.[1]

He became both an International Master and a Grandmaster in 2007. His brother Gokul gave up a career in engineering to become his manager.[1] In 2009, the All India Chess Federation banned him for a year for not playing in a national championship.[2] The AICF was accused of arbitrariness and the ban was subsequently revoked.
